For the price we paid, we got great value with comfortable beds and a welcoming atmosphere. The location was convenient, with an easy walk to downtown and Casco Viejo. The staff at Mamallena were always friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
The breakfast could be improved with more variety, such as butter, jam, and fresh fruit.

The hostel has a cozy and home-like atmosphere, with a kitchen where everyone comes together to cook and have good conversations. There are also plenty of power plugs and spaces to work remotely with your laptop without disturbing others. The location of the hostel is convenient, with stores and restaurants within walking distance. The staff is friendly and helpful, providing useful tips about tourist attractions in Panama.
Felt very welcomed, no complaints at all.

The staff at the hostel were incredibly friendly and helpful, always making an effort to engage with guests and create a welcoming atmosphere. The hostel had a clean and comfortable environment with a well-stocked kitchen and free coffee in the morning. Additionally, the location was conveniently close to shops, restaurants, and transportation links.
One downside of staying at this hostel was the lack of information and recommendations for activities and attractions in the city. While the staff was friendly, their knowledge of the area was limited.

Excellent value for money with comfortable and spacious rooms. The location is great, within walking distance to Ancon Hill and Casco Viejo, and with cheap Uber rides to other areas. The staff at Mamallena were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
The hotel breakfast menu could be improved by offering more toppings such as butter, jam, and fruit for the pancakes.

We had such great value for our money at Mamallena! The room was cozy, clean, and had everything we needed. The location was perfect, with plenty of places to eat and shop nearby, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
The only thing that could have made the breakfast selection better was adding some fresh fruit options.

We recently had a romantic escape in Panama and stayed at a lovely hostel. The staff were incredibly friendly and always had a smile on their faces. They were very helpful and provided us with great recommendations for things to do in the area. The hostel had a beautiful outdoor pool that was perfect for cooling off after a long day. The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed the fact that there was free coffee in the morning. the hostel had a secure entrance, which made us feel safe during our stay.
That the location of the hostel was not the best. There were not many decent places to eat nearby and the closest big supermarket was a bit far away.

We had an amazing stay at this hostel! The bunk beds were not flimsy like the wooden ones you usually find. Instead, they were built out of concrete, double-sized, and had a bar for added privacy. The beds were incredibly comfortable, the best we've stayed in during our 6 months of traveling. The hostel also provided free pancakes and tea/coffee all day. The kitchen facilities were excellent, and everything we needed was conveniently close by. The hostel's location was perfect, very close to attractions, the old town, and the bus terminal. The staff was always nice and helpful. we had a fantastic experience.
Not one thing.

Great social atmosphere with friendly and helpful staff. . Central communal areas, including a pool and bar, made it easy to meet and connect with other travelers. Convenient baggage storage option for extended trips.
Inconsistent pricing, with some guests paying significantly less for the same room. . Hygiene issues, including mold on bunk beds, dirty linen, and flooded bathrooms without soap.

Communication with the hostel prior to our arrival was excellent. They provided us with helpful tips for activities, public transport, and directions. the staff was incredibly friendly and always willing to assist us. the common areas were spacious and inviting, perfect for meeting new people. the kitchen was clean and well-equipped, making meal preparation a breeze. Our dorm room was spacious with comfortable beds, and the private room was cozy. the air conditioning in all the rooms was a bonus. Oh, and did I mention the unlimited free coffee all day? It was even better than some of the cafes I've been to!
Couldn't stay longer 😔.

The beds and pillows were incredibly comfortable, providing me with one of the comfiest sleeps on my whole trip. The self-made pancake breakfast was a unique and delicious touch. For the price we paid, we got excellent value. The room was clean and comfortable, and the air conditioning worked great during the night. The location was convenient, with a supermarket only a short walk away. The staff at Mamallena were friendly and always ready to assist.
The breakfast could have been better, especially if they added more toppings like butter, jam, and fresh fruit.

The breakfast included delicious pancakes made by guests themselves, which was a fun and unique experience. Additionally, there was a designated space in the refrigerator for guests to use, which was convenient. The staff in general was extremely helpful and considerate, providing great service throughout our stay.
The location did not feel safe and walking around the area, especially at night, was not recommended. The lack of air conditioning until 9pm was uncomfortable, considering the hot weather in the city.
